10 Great Ways to Welcome New Members to Your Mighty Network

One of the key challenges as a Mighty Network host is new member onboarding. After all you invest in bringing in new members, you want them to enjoy being in your network and become active!

It’s easy to feel lost and alone walking into a new place for the first time. When you aren’t sure where to go or what to do, you look for directions and watch for friendly faces.

New members in your Mighty Network are in the same situation. What they see and experience the first time they enter your network and how quickly they move from feeling lost and alone to comfortable and connected is key to them sticking around.

10 Great Ways to Welcome New Members

Pick one of these ideas to get started and add more to expand your welcome.

  1. Write a “Start Here” article that shares the most important things for a member to know when they first come into your network.

  2. Post your “Start Here” article in the Mighty Networks Welcome section so it is easily spotted by new members.

  3. Create a network guide for deeper and broader support. Depending on how your network is organized, you might choose to use a Topic, Group, or Course to hold this guide.

  4. Send a personal chat to each new member or a group chat to a group of new members.

  5. Create an email automation sequence to send to each new member. (This requires the Mighty Network Business Plan and Zapier.)

  6. Welcome new members by name in a post or live video.

  7. Hold a periodic new member event that includes an online tour of your network.

  8. Pair new members with active members to show them around.

  9. Post a weekly tip about your network.

  10. Make a game out of exploring your network. Bingo and a scavenger hunt are two options.
